Fate/Grand Order is a JRPG framed within the popular visual novel reborn through some quite competent franchising started by Fate/Stay Night. Jump back to 2015 where the plot takes you to the Chaldea Security Organization summit where it is revealed that human existence is at risk if no action is taken within the coming year. Scientists have managed to discover the cause of this great catastrophe generated by an anomaly that originated in the city of Fuyuki at the end of 2004. Your mission is to travel through time accompanied by a group of special agents who will help you challenge fate by stopping the moment of origin; thereby saving the world.
At the beginning you create your special agent, choosing his gender and name. During the many conversations you will have throughout this game, you will also assign a certain identity to your protagonist thanks to the option to switch between different sets of dialogues. Of course, you can always skip some of these short chats, but this is not a recommended strategy or in your best interest. The plot line in Fate/Grand Order is one of its real strengths and it's worth spending some time reading it.
Long conversations aren't the only feature in Fate/Grand Order. During this adventure, you'll have to defeat all the enemies, which means you'll be involved in some extremely intense one-on-one battles. With over a dozen different 'Servants' to send into battle, you're in charge of utilizing each of their special characteristics and skills, as well as balancing their strong points and weaknesses, without alienating each of the individual personalities involved. Many of them are old-timers present from the beginning of this saga.
Fate/Grand Order is an epic JRPG with a dramatic story that underpins the well-crafted (some would say genius) tactical battles.
